Abstract

The obituary examines the main stages of the scientific and pedagogical heritage of the outstanding Slovakist, Doctor of Philology, Professor of the Department of Slavic Philology of the Philological Faculty of Moscow State University Konstantin Vasilyevich Lifanov. A brief analysis of the original concept of the history of the Slovak literary language developed by K. V. Lifanov is given, its innovative nature is emphasized; a brief description of the teaching aids developed by K. V. Lifanov is given. The activities of K. V. Lifanov are analyzed in the general context of trends in the development of Russian and world Slovak studies.
