After the Rajk Trial of September 1949, with its clear anti-Yugoslav direction, the re-lations between the two neighbor states reached their low point. The psychological trauma infl icted by Yugoslavia during the massive anti-Titoist campaign turned out to be so severe that it disturbed the process of mutual rapprochement, which started very slowly after Stalin’s death.
