Abstract

The article presents the results of a fi eld research conducted in Momchilovtsi (Bulgaria). The aim of the research was to clarify the perception of the significance of some episodes of the regional history, to explore the ideas of modern Bulgarian "outback" about the Ottoman period and the population’s attitude towards history in general.
