Abstract

This obituary examines the key milestones in the scholarly, organizational, and pedagogical legacy of Rumyana Angelova Mikhneva, a prominent Bulgarian historian, Doctor of Historical Sciences, and professor at the Varna Free University. It provides a brief analysis of the scholar's research and teaching activities, her contribution to the development of Russian-Bulgarian academic ties and the study of relations between Russia and the Ottoman Empire, and between Bulgaria and Russia. The scholar's important role in the work of the Commonwealth of Russianists in Bulgaria is noted.
