Abstract

The article considers the work of the renowned Russian historian of Bulgaria Akop Ulunyan (1924–2003), who dealt with the Russian-Turkish war of 1877–1878, the liberation of Bulgaria from the Ottoman rule and the leaders of the Bulgarian Revival. Furthermore, his contribution to the exploration of this problematic, as well as development of the Russian-Bulgarian academic cooperation in the second half of the last century is shown.
