The article deals with the Czech Catholic historiography of the Hussitism of the late nineteenth ‒ early twentieth century. The article presents an analysis of the studies by Czech Catholic authors (mostly priests), such as Antonín Lenz, František Xaver Kryštůfek, Jan Sedlák and several others (related to the Catholic fortnightly «Vlast»). The author concludes that Catholic authors mostly considered Hussitism as essentially heretical and the verdict of the Council of Constance as fair. Despite that, they described Jan Hus as a great yet cont roversial person and could not agree on several aspects of the early Hussite history.
