Abstract

The article describes the participation of the Slovak Army in the War on the Soviet-German (Eastern) Front during the summer of 1941; impressions of the Slovaks on the situation in Western Ukraine and the attitude of its population; actions of NKVD on the eve of the war and during its first days; activities of Ukrainian nationalists (OUN) in the territory occupied by Germans.
