Abstract

The article considers the circumstances of the armed conflict between the Bulgarians and the Russians during the First world war. It is based on archival and literary materials, which were concealed until recently because of ideological "shame" for the myth which was supported in totalitarian Bulgaria and recounted that the grateful Bulgarians have never made armed attack against their Russian liberators after the liberation from the Turks in 1877-1878. The author comes to the conclusion that the Bulgarians and the Russians in the evaluation of the collision had their own truth, which is not always coinciding with the historical reality.
