The article is dedicated to the architectural monuments erected in Bulgaria and in Russia to celebrate the victory over the Ottomans in the Russo-Turkish War of 1877 – 1878 (aka the Liberation War), following the Orthodox tradition of honoring the warriors dead ‘for their brethren’.
