Abstract

The subject of the article is the perception of the war in Orthodox and Greek Catholic polemical literature of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth in the end of 16th – first half of 17th century. A special attention was given to their interpretation of the past Russian-Polish relations and military conflicts. Because of difficult conditions in which the polemical activity was unfolded, the relation was complicated between the declared loyalty to the Polish authorities and the Russian identity.
