Serbs in the Kingdom of Hungary Viewed by Foreigners

Abstract

Using diaries, travel stories and memoirs of the foreigners as a basis, the author describes the life of Serbs in Hungary from the 2nd half of the 17th to the beginning of 19th century. The impressions of British, Russian and German travelers permit to have an idea about the situation, occupations and lifestyle of Serbian colonists coming from Turkishheld areas and follow the process and the results of their ‘Europeanization’ in their new homeland.
