Abstract

The wealth of Tutchev views on Slavic Question in his poetic works and political essays is reviewed. It is shown, that despite the fact that they may seem out of fashion, in their substance they are still significant for the third millennium. The globalization process leads to risk of loss of Slavic national identity, thus the idea of the brotherhood, most pronounced in Tutchev’s work, is gaining new and creative meanings; this concerns their unity, «raced with love», not with «steel and blood».
