Abstract

The article describes the workings of the Preliminary Congress of Russian Specialists in Slavic Philology and History that took place in St. Petersburg in 1903. The goal of the forum was to prepare an international congress of Slavicists, scheduled for 1904. However, it did not take place because of the beginning of Russo-Japanese War and political developments in Russia in 1905-1906.
