Abstract

The article is a publication and analysis of an archival source of the midseventeenth century, which is devoted to the life of the Hungarian immigrant Laurenty Migalev (Lőrinc Mihály) in the South-Russian town Kozlov (nowadays Michurinsk, a district centre of Tambov region). The author considers the version that the immigrant came to the Muscovite state together with the Ukrainian Cossacks after Bohdan Khmelnytsky’s defeat at the battle of Berestechko (1651).
