Abstract

The article deals with one aspect of the long-term scholarly life of the outstanding Slavist Jakov Golovatsky (1814–1888), who laid the foundation for research in a number of directions in various humanities, including the history of Slavic book cultures. The scholarly heritage of Yakov Golovatsky, who enjoyed recognition during his lifetime, both in the Russian Empire and beyond its borders, first of all in his native Galicia, had long become an important part of the international humanities and to this day is used by specialists in its various fields, including history of book.
