Freedom in the linguistic worldview of the Belorusians

Abstract

The article is devoted to the concept of «freedom» in the Belarusian language. Three types of data (dictionary, text and psycholinguistic) are involved. The material of all available dictionaries is extracted and summarized; precedent texts and corpus data are analyzed; associative dictionaries and other studies are explored; surveys are conducted, too. As a result, ethnoliguistic view on these data as far as on Belarusian toponyms with names of ‘freedom’ is created.
