Berorusian documentary and fictional prose: on the border of fact and fable. M.I. Haretski. At the imperialist war

Abstract

The article is devoted to the work of M.I. Haretski, who was the author of the first “History of Belarusian literature”, the founder of the documentary and fictional movement in the Belarusian verbal folklore. According to the author’s opinion, Haretski’s style had several peculiarities, among them are laconism, philosophical thinking without deliberate didacticism, delicacy to the historic and topical problems of the Belorusian people.
