On the international aspect of the Polish peaceful revolution of 1989

Abstract

The article focuses on the international aspects of the Polish peaceful revolution of 1989. The author reveals the important role of the United States in the Polish transition to the democracy, analyses the documents which present the active position of the American administration towards the situation in Poland and the cardinal change of the strategy directed at the strengthening of the US position in the region of Central and East Europe from that time on.
