The article examines the role of K.I. Ivanov — a member of the Educational committee (under the Plenipotentiary of the All-Russian Cities Union in Bulgaria) — in reorganization of the Russian school system in the 1920s–1930s. Ivanov was the person who inspired the reform. Russian schools were losing their national identity complying with the requirements of the Bulgarian government. It was getting more and more diffi cult, to maintain the required number of Russian national disciplines’ hours.
