Unforgettable. A few strokes to the life and work of Georgi Dmitrievich Gachev

Abstract

The seventieth anniversary of the Institute of Slavic Studies, celebrated on the January, 31, 2017, like any such events, is a cause to look back and to speak about people impossible to forget. This article is devoted to the extraordinary scholar, philosopher and writer Georgi Dmitrievich Gachev (1929–2008) who worked at the Institute since the mid-1980s and who did a lot for the development and the "emancipation" of Slavic Philology and other humanitarian studies.
